Petition to the Danish Ministry of Education
Support for the Approval of an International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme in Vejle
We, the undersigned residents of Vejle and members of the international and local community, respectfully call upon the Danish Ministry of Education to approve the application from Rødkilde Gymnasium to establish an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in Vejle.
Background
Vejle is home to a rapidly growing number of international families who have chosen to live and work here, contributing to the city's cultural diversity and economic development. Despite this, there is currently no IB programme offered within Vejle Municipality, causing students to have a long and not very flexible commute to other cities or even consider returning to their home countries in order to access internationally recognized education. It is also a barrier for new international families to relocate to Vejle now and in the future.
Rødkilde Gymnasium has submitted a bid to open an IB programme that would address this gap and meet the needs of both international and Danish families who seek a globally oriented education.
